ABOUT S.R. PASTERNACK

A history fan and unapologetic child of the 80s, S.R. Pasternack still has no idea why she decided to set a story about atomic wizards in the 1970s. Cold War Era propaganda has fascinated her since she learned about it while in the U.S. military, and she studied the psychology behind blind patriotism while pursuing a Psychiatric Doctor of Nursing Practice.
S.R. Pasternack is the author of middle grade fantasy duology ANYA AND THE DRAGON (2019, HMH) and ANYA AND THE NIGHTINGALE (2020, HMH), and standalone middle grade fantasy BLACK BIRD, BLUE ROAD (2022, HarperCollins). When she's not searching the internet for vintage propaganda posters, she bakes challah and knits lumpy scarves. She lives in Utah with her family and, tragically, no goats.
